We met in the fall of 2024 through the Ideate program, an extracurricular, non-credit initiative run by KTH and SSE. We went straight into Sweden's healthcare system and started digging. That autumn, we spoke to hundreds of people — hospitals, startups, agencies. We asked every stupid question we could think of, and listened closely for friction points—not yet focused on global mobility, but driven to understand the bigger picture.
We had a plenty of ideas. Solving scheduling for hospitals. A smart language
system to help international doctors hit the ground running. A unified vaccination record — because yes, it's still scattered across providers in Sweden. Even preventive health tech for pets.
But as the conversations piled up, one pattern kept cutting through.
Whether we spoke to hospitals, startups, public agencies, or global companies — they all said the same thing:
"We can't find the high-skilled talent we need."
Talent was not lacking, it was locked.
The real challenge was access; systems built to move bright minds were slow,
fragmented, and full of friction.
That sparked the question: What if we could change that?
How can we be the change we wish to see in the world? How can we fuel innovation?
The more we listen, and iterate, the more obvious it becomes — it always starts with people.
If we want progress, we must trust in people's capacity to lead it.
We're building Permly because we believe belonging isn't bound by borders, language, or paperwork. It's the right to contribute. To be part of something greater than oneself.

In spring 2025, we were accepted into the Activate program at SSE Business Lab.
While studying full-time, we spent every free hour cold-calling HR teams, startups, legal departments, mobility specialists, and international talent — mapping where the system broke, and why.
